I hit a FB Marketplace jackpot last night. I've been looking for an improvement in the jack plane department and saw this Stanley that looked extra old. Lo and behold it's a Type 11! (1910-1918 mfg range) looks like it was dropped and mended many years ago, but it will serve me just fine for my life I'd say! My first block plane came with it, but I would have paid the $50 just for the no.5!

In other news, this made me discover that my Saergent Her cules is actually a 5 1/2, so I've been carrying an extra pound around for years!

I've been neck deep in bathroom reno's the last two weeks, so I desperately needed to get an hour of touching non-2x4 wood again. I've ordered a few carving tools to try out that direction over the next while, so here are the beginnings of a spoon! Carved from walnut, and the head shape needs some rounding, but the handle is oh so cozy!
