Community support provides the Dew Drop Inn the opportunity to serve a good meal daily and also so many wonderful extras along the way. Today we thank Leo Nevala Jr and the good folk at Nevala Metsa Group for their generous $1,000 donation to our Compassion Kitchen. We simply could not do this without you and are grateful so many out there are thinking of the Dew. Thanks for that!

🌲 Building the Foundation for a Safer Forestry Industry 🌲

At Nevala Metsä Group, we’re not just preparing to offer services, we’re setting the standard for chainsaw safety, professional training, and responsible forestry practices in Ontario.

As an Indigenous-owned business based in Northwestern Ontario, our mission is rooted in respect for the land, the people who depend on it, and the professionals who work in it every day.

Here’s what we’re working on behind the scenes:

✅ Chainsaw Faller Training
We’re developing a professional, Ontario-based faller training program designed to meet real-world conditions. This two-week course will raise the bar for safety, skill, and industry accountability — especially in sectors where proper training has been overlooked for too long.

✅ Field Services
While we haven’t started field contracts yet, we’re preparing to deliver right-of-way clearing, lot clearing, hazard tree removal, and more — with a focus on safety and environmental responsibility.

✅ Community-Focused Firewood Initiatives
Trees removed during training and services will be processed into firewood and donated to Indigenous communities — providing warmth and support where it’s needed most.

✅ Emergency Response
Storm damage, fallen trees, and hazard mitigation are on our radar. Our future response teams will be equipped to support communities quickly and safely.

We may not have broken ground yet, but the vision is clear: Raise expectations. Train with purpose. Serve with integrity.
