What an incredible evening hosting the Women in Trades Meet Up! 🪚🖤

We were absolutely thrilled to open our doors at immanu'El Cabinets today to host a wonderful group of local women in trades. It was incredibly inspiring to connect, share stories, and celebrate the vital roles women play in our industries.

A massive thank you to Lisa Scott and everyone who helped organize this event, and to all the amazing tradeswomen who came out to chat, network, and share their experiences.

⚡️ A Special Highlight: The evening was made even more memorable as this art print was officially handed over to its wonderful new owner! Having local, northern-inspired creativity right here in the shop brings so much meaning to what we do. ❤️

From digital design to solid wood 🔥

There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching a CNC bring a logo to life—cut by cut, layer by layer. This door started as a concept and is now being carved with precision right into the grain, turning it into a true statement piece.
Every detail matters, and the craftsmanship doesn’t stop when the machine does. From setup to final sanding, it’s all about making sure the finished piece reflects the quality behind the name. We cannot wait to see it finished and up on the building ⚡️

This print recently went to a client in Kitwanga, and the story behind it is a touching one. The client shared that her daughter had passed, and that ladybugs were always her daughter’s favorite. When she saw this piece, she immediately felt a connection to it.

The print now sits in her home as a small comfort and a reminder of her daughter’s presence. Moments like this remind us that art can carry deep meaning, holding memories, love, and connection in ways that words sometimes cannot. ❤️🐞

We had the pleasure of having Ella with us for six weeks through the "Together We Build" Employment Readiness Program with K5T and what a six weeks it was.

From Day 1, she blended right in. She showed up ready to learn, asked great questions, worked hard, and carried herself with confidence and curiosity. It didn’t take long before she felt like part of the crew.

Programs like this matter — they open doors, build skills, and create real pathways into the trades. Ella took full advantage of the opportunity, and it was great to watch her grow more comfortable and capable each day in the shop.

She will definitely be missed around here.

We’re excited to see where her journey in Carpentry takes her next and wish her all the best as she steps forward into the trade. The future is bright. 🔨✨

Learning CNC is a journey — whether you’re brand new to the trade or you’ve been at it for years.

It’s not just “press start and walk away.” It’s design, tooling, feeds and speeds, problem-solving… and occasionally standing there staring at the machine wondering, “Why did it do that?”

The truth is — you never stop learning. New software, new tooling, new materials. The best in the trade are the ones who stay curious.

Even Benny the Shop Dog is learning CNC.
He supervises tool changes, monitors feed rates (very closely), and makes sure we take proper snack breaks. We’re not saying he understands G-code yet… but he definitely understands shop morale.

Whether you’re seasoned or just starting out — keep learning, keep improving, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

If Benny can do it, so can you. 🐾
