Another beautiful roofing project completed and another satisfied homeowner.

This roof was installed using Malarkey Vista shingles, one of the most durable and high-performing architectural shingles available today. Designed to withstand harsh weather conditions while delivering exceptional curb appeal, it’s a roofing system built to last.

The final result speaks for itself.

As we move into the second half of summer, our schedule for asphalt shingle roofing projects is filling up quickly. We still have a limited number of installation spots available, but availability is becoming increasingly limited.

If your roof is showing signs of aging, leaking, or storm damage, now is the time to plan ahead before the fall rush begins.

Contact Terra Roofing today for your free estimate.

We’re kicking off the year with multiple flat roof projects using the highly efficient SOPREMA Soprafix® System built for strength, speed, and long-term performance.

The Soprafix® system uses mechanical fastening combined with heat-welded seams to deliver excellent wind resistance and reliable waterproofing.

In flat roofing, proper drainage isn’t optional, it’s essential. Poor drainage leads to ponding water, added structural load, and premature roof failure.

Especially in Kitimat … With almost 3,000 mm (120+ inches) of annual rainfall, Kitimat sees more rain than most places in Canada, even the fish are jealous. 🐟☔

Malarkey Vista® Shingles : Our Go-To Shingle for Reliable Protection

This home was re-roofed using Malarkey Vista® architectural shingles, one of our most popular shingle systems for Northern coastal climates where roofs have to handle heavy rain, high winds, salt air, moss/algae risk, and repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Why the Malarkey Vista® Shingles performs so well here:

• Laminated architectural construction for added thickness and long-term durability.

• High wind resistance when installed as a complete system critical in exposed coastal conditions.

• Strong granule adhesion and weathering performance to help protect against constant moisture and UV cycling.

• Algae-resistant protection to reduce streaking and staining in damp, shaded environments.

• Designed to integrate with ice & water protection, ventilation, and flashing details, key for wind-driven rain and condensation control.

Did you know (coastal climate tip)?

In damp coastal regions, roof ventilation and intake/exhaust balance can be just as important as the shingle itself. Proper airflow helps reduce condensation, mold risk, and premature deck wear, and it supports better shingle performance through seasonal temperature swings.

If you’re planning a roof replacement and want a system designed for coastal conditions 📞 Call / text us today to secure your spot or get a free inspection 1 (778) 200-6050 - Head to our website and fill out the form with photos and details, an estimator will reach out within 24 hours.

Metal roofing is tough, long-lasting, and sharp looking, but in winter it can act like a sled. Snow and ice can let go all at once, sliding off in heavy sheets and damaging gutters, landscaping, or vehicles. More importantly, it can create a real safety risk for people below.

It can also become a liability concern, and in many cases it ties into snow-load compliance expectations. Snow retention isn’t just an add-on accessory. It’s closer to a science: roof pitch, panel type, local snowfall, and layout all affect what system works best.

That’s why we don’t just sell parts. We help customers get it right.

Standing seam: seam-mounted snow rails with cleats, no drilling or penetrations.

Exposed fastener (screw-down): screw-down snow bars in aluminum or galvanized, custom color matching available.

Did you know snow retention can affect snow-load risk and sometimes even insurance conversations?

Snow on a roof isn’t just “weight” — when it slides off a metal roof all at once, it can create a safety hazard and property damage risk. In many situations, insurers care most about risk management: preventing sudden snow/ice slides, protecting walkways and entrances, and reducing the chance of damage or injury claims.

Also, while snow guards don’t “raise” your roof’s structural snow-load rating, a properly designed snow retention system can help manage how snow behaves on the roof, especially on metal, by reducing sudden releases.

Send us your roof style and location and we’ll recommend the right snow retention setup.
