✨ Bathroom Transformation—Take Two - Thanks,
JAWS Contracting was brought in to refresh this Jack & Jill bathroom by removing the dated linoleum and backsplash and replacing them with a stylish, modern look. We installed a stunning new tile mosaic floor—only to notice, as we began grouting, a subtle but undeniable difference in tile shades.
Upon further inspection, we discovered that the tile sheets, all purchased from The Home Depot, came from three different dye lots—a detail that wasn't flagged at the time of purchase. While The Home Depot insists this is “common knowledge” and cites a 35% acceptable color variation, we respectfully disagree. As seasoned tilers, we know consistency matters—and if we were surprised, imagine how confusing this would be for a DIY homeowner.
Unfortunately, The Home Depot offered no apology, no compensation, and no support. And so, with heavy hearts, we tore up the newly installed floor and started again—because doing the right thing for our clients means everything to us.
💫 The final result? A gorgeous grey hexagonal tile floor, framed with a bold black border and completed with a crisp white subway tile backsplash. The transformation is breathtaking—twice as much work, but twice the pride.
