Some of the most important parts of your house are eventually covered up. Being in the framing stage isn't exactly the glamorous part of building a custom home... However it's one of our favourites.

This is when we can see how everything comes together before the walls are closed: structure, blocking, rough openings, mechanical locations and all the little decisions that have to be right before we move forward.

A year from now, the homeowner probably won't think twice about most of what's in this photo & that's kind of the point.

Good construction should quietly do its job for a very long time.

We currently have three Black Wolf custom homes under construction. You just can't see them yet.

Before excavation equipment arrives and before there's framing to walk through, a huge amount of the build is already happening.

Floorplans are being refined.

Sites are being considered.

Budgets are being balanced.

Engineering is happening.

Exterior details are being worked through.

Selections are starting.

Permits and schedules are being coordinated.

This stage doesn't produce particularly impressive Instagram photos. It does produce better houses. Custom starts long before construction does.
