This piece is built from stunning maple burl hardwood with a deep black epoxy river, finished to a high-gloss, glass-like shine. Every detail was sanded and polished by hand right here in Cape Breton.

This full renovation completely transformed the space and included:
• Removal of carpet and installation of large-format marble-style tile with infloor heating throughout
• A fully updated custom shower with tiled walls, niche, and modern fixtures
• New freestanding tub positioned to take advantage of the natural light and views
• Updated vanity area with new countertops, sinks, heated towel racks and statement mirrors
• Crown moulding, trim work, and fresh paint for a clean, timeless finish
• Updated lighting throughout, including feature chandelier and wall lighting

The result is a bathroom that feels open, luxurious, and thoughtfully designed — combining classic details with modern finishes and long-term durability.

This project started as an unused and awkward corner that served no real purpose. The client wanted the space transformed into a functional statement piece with a mid-century modern feel. We designed and built a fully custom storage and bench unit featuring rich wood tones, clean lines, and vertical slat detailing to add warmth and texture. The result is a once-unusable area that now functions as both practical storage and a standout design element in the home.

This time the “client” was… me. 😅we finally tackled our own bathroom, and it was great to slow down and put the same care, detail, and craftsmanship into our own home that we give to every job. From drywall and finishing to tile work, trim, paint, and the final touches — everything was done in-house. It’s always satisfying watching a space transform from the rough stages to a clean, modern finished room.
