Hey folks.

Even with a third person to help we weren't able to make it through all of our list today. We needed about 3 more hrs and Tom's body said no to that.

Tom and Braydon will be back out first thing in the morning and Travis will be joining us again later. With the conditions we experienced today we fully expect to have to cycle back through the whole list to deal with what blew/fell in behind us.

We are stopping for a quick washroom break, grabbing a snack and picking up our awesome neighbour who is going to be our third body.

At this point we are only a third of the way through our list. Even with an extra hand, we're not going to make it through everyone today.

It looks like the wind and snow were enthusiastic over night. We have gotten the inch that was forecast, plus some.

Hey folks.

Personal update from Tom.

Just after Xmas I said that it was my turn to visit the Dr. The hernia symptoms I was feeling were confirmed as hernia. What was unknown until the CT and ultrasounds was that there are two. An inguinal hernia and an umbilical hernia. Neither are large or serious but I definitely am uncomfortable.

Because I use my body to support our family, I want to get them fixed before they do become serious and cause more problems. I have started the process for surgery to repair the hernias, but with our health care system and surgical wait times being what they are; that will be sometime well down the road. I understand that my situation is very low on the priority list. When that time comes we will figure out our next steps. In the meantime, I will be out there doing my job as best I can.

Hey folks.

It's going to be a bit of a slower than normal day today. Braydon is down with a stomach bug so Tom will be on his own.

Update: He says he's tired but he's going to tough it out and head out with Tom this morning.

Update 2: it's a Sunday so we're going to start at 09:00 today to give Braydon and the community an extra hr rest before we start being noisy with our blowers.

Hey folks.

Our forecast is calling for a mix of snow and rain for a couple of hrs this morning with temperatures running just above the freezing point. Then more of the same later this afternoon. The issue is the 60-80 km winds that we are having with it.

We will monitor the day and deal with whatever we end up with.

Hey folks.

We want to send a big thank you out to our customers who donate their recyclable cans and bottles to our kids. Your contributions accounted for over half a truck load of the two truck loads we collected today as part of the Swift Current School Band fundraiser bottle drive.

Thank you to everyone in the city who helped support fine arts education today!

This is the truckload that we collected going door to door. We also had a truckload of items collected through the fall from you amazing people and our own house.

Hey folks.

Last week it was Tom's turn to visit the Dr for a bit of an issue he was having. He is operational and is working, but not at 100%. He is scheduled for some imaging to be done up next week to help fully determine the issue and figure out how things move forward. It's nothing too serious and right now just causes some discomfort and slows him down.

So this week we are taking advantage of having Chris off school and will be working as a three man crew to help Tom out. We will try to update as things change if they have an effect on our operations.

We don't know how to do fancy graphics like all the other snow companies in town, but here's our Holiday hours.

We will be shut down for Dec 25/26 and Jan 1.

Well that changes things. Just after we got rolling, it has started raining and snowing. We are going to collect our snowblower that was drying overnight and put it away then reassess what our day looks like.
