The question we get the most lately is:
How does the foam react when it gets wet.
The question arises as more and more basements are being foamed due to the soaked fiberglass from the floods.
Our sprayfoam system can absorb water up to 1.6% of its original weight. If it ever gets flooded again remove drywall dehumidify to the point when the studs reach 12% moister level, spray some disinfectant and finish the way you desire. Sprayfoam is a cellular plastic and doesn’t have any property for mold to grow and as it’s sealed to the wall and studs no water can get behind and and therefore doesn’t need to be removed if it’s gets wet.
