Un nouveau chapitre: La Bakery
La Boulangerie Abercorn a fermé ses portes cet été, après plus de 40 ans au cœur de la vie du village. Du pain, des croissants, des rencontres, des habitudes bien ancrées. Ce lieu a nourri la communauté d'Abercorn pendant toutes ces années, et on voulait prendre un moment pour dire merci à Georges.
On profite de cette transition pour vous annoncer la suite pour le bâtiment. Construction Rocket, établie à Abercorn depuis sa fondation en 2012, en a fait l'acquisition et compte honorer l'histoire du lieu en le rebaptisant La Bakery.
Nous prévoyons y installer nos bureaux, mais nous tenons à ce que La Bakery soit plus qu'un simple lieu de travail pour notre équipe.
Nous y aménageons un espace de cotravail, flexible et ouvert, que pourront aussi utiliser les gens qui souhaitent travailler à Abercorn. Et même si le bâtiment change de vocation, nous souhaitons qu'il demeure vivant et ancré dans la communauté. Un endroit où on se croise, où on jase, où on se retrouve, et qui contribue à faire vivre le village.
C'est aussi pourquoi nous réservons un espace en façade pour accueillir un commerce, un projet qui ouvrirait le lieu aux résident.es et ferait de La Bakery un endroit où il fait bon s'arrêter.

A New Chapter: La Bakery
The Abercorn Bakery closed its doors this summer, after serving the community for more than 40 years. Bread, croissants, conversations, the routines people counted on — this place fed Abercorn for four decades, and we want to take a moment to say thank you, Georges.
We're also taking this opportunity to tell you what's coming next for the building. Construction Rocket, based in Abercorn since we founded the company in 2012, has purchased the building, and we intend to honour its history by renaming it La Bakery.
Our offices will be moving in, but we want La Bakery to be more than a workplace for our team. We're setting up an open, flexible coworking space that others working in Abercorn will be able to join. Although the building is changing hands, we want it to remain a welcoming space rooted in the community — somewhere people can run into each other, chat, catch up, and help keep village life vibrant.
That's why we're setting aside space at the front for a small business, a project that could welcome community members and make La Bakery an inviting space where people can drop in.
