Sadly, it’s just about that time again. This is the first year of preschool for Jensen & grade one for Trygve. My oh my, time sure does go fast. 🌸🌸

These back to school boards have an acrylic space to write in their answers each year, at the beginning, & at the end of the year. “The First Day of” is attached with Velcro & you can take it off to swap with the last day.

You were never meant to be cookie cutter. 🤎

When you learn a new craft or skill, you're not just learning how to make something. You're learning how to think, experiment, problem-solve and find your own way of doing things.

Use the original as inspiration. Learn the techniques. Follow the pattern.

And then… make it yours.

Change the colour. Try a different fabric. Add something unexpected. Leave something out. Put your own little twist on it.

That's where creativity really begins.

There doesn't have to be one "right" way to create. And your finished piece doesn't have to look exactly like the one that inspired you.

Let yourself be curious. Let yourself experiment. Let yourself create something that's uniquely YOU.

Because the world doesn't need more cookie-cutter.

It needs your ideas. ✂️🧵✨

As our community begins to find its footing again… 🤎

It certainly doesn't mean everything is back to normal.

For those who lost homes, belongings and so much more, the road ahead will be long. Our hearts are with you.

For those of us who are able, there are also ways we can help our community begin to rebuild — and one of them is supporting the local businesses that help make our community what it is.

Creating isn't just about the finished product. It's about slowing down, getting lost in the process, learning something new, and giving your mind a little room to breathe.

Maybe we all need a little bit more time spent making things with our hands.

Wedding card order. No particular theme or color scheme.

I started with watercolor paper. I lightly inked the back with an antique linen. Then stamped the florals and used gold embossing powder. I used my distress inks to color them in. Gold embossing powder was used for the sentiment as well. I finished off the panel by die cutting the edges, and inking with a walnut stain ink. Then adhered it to the card base.

Card class yesterday! I love to teach card making. We made several generic cards, with pre-stamped sentiments that could be added later.

Custom DIY Family name sign (stencil & lasered hearts), I did awhile back. I worked with my customer to design what she wanted. She received the stencil & hearts & completed the project. I made the stencil to fit the board she was going to use.
