Last night as the thunder was rolling in, I rushed outside to tie up my wall of sugar snap peas. They are well above my head, maybe 2 feet above arm's reach. I'll most definitely need a step ladder to harvest to tops.

Let's talk about spiders🕷!
If you're gardening, chances are you will encounter this guy👇.
They are radioactive creatures that will give you superhuman strength and the ability to shoot webs. Just kidding😜, hope there are Marvel fans out there.
They are members of the Lycosidae family, which comes from the Greek word meaning “wolf”. They are commonly known as Wolf Spiders. They are predatory spiders that hunt and chase their food, so they don’t spin webs.
What’s super cool about this spider is that they carry their egg sac with them. That’s right, that little white ball has about 100 tiny spider eggs waiting to hatch.
As tempted as you are to stomp or set fire to this monster… just let it be. They can be very beneficial to gardens as they help maintain pest population around your precious veggies and fruits. In other words, they eat aphides, mosquitoes, Japanese bettles etc…
On a side note, I see them every time I work in my garden, and I’ve yet to be bitten or chased by them, so you will be fine too.

Peppers are planted!! I've outdone myself this year and planted 44 homegrown hot peppers. With about 10 to spare who need a new home.
These were started indoor at the end of March in deep cell trays. I love planting peppers because they are super easy to grow compared to tomatoes.
It's very important to "harden" plants before planting in the garden. These peppers spent a couple hours every day for a week in full sun and then back in the shade. A couple years ago, I planted all my peppers without hardening them off and the sun had baked them by the end of the day.

Doesn't get any fresher than this! There is such a huge taste difference in store bought and homegrown.

It's time to plant seeds!!! Here's a little tip, soak your larger seeds/legumes in water for a couple hours, or even overnight. Soaking seeds before planting helps you to break down the seed’s natural defenses against what it expects from Mother Nature, which then allows it to germinate faster.
