What an incredible honour for the Jay McKinnon Company! 🇨🇦🌿

Crystal and I had the opportunity to attend the 2026 National Awards of Landscape Excellence in St. John’s, Newfoundland, where Jay McKinnon Company was nominated for one of Canada’s top awards in landscape design.

We may not be bringing home the award, but being recognized as one of the top three in Canada for landscape design is something we are incredibly proud of.

To have our work recognized on a national stage alongside some of the very best in our industry is a huge accomplishment and a reflection of the talent, creativity and hard work of our entire team.

A great night celebrating excellence in Canadian landscaping, and a pretty amazing reminder of just how far our team has come.

Top three in Canada. We’ll take that! 🇨🇦👏

It’s finally warm enough! Adding tropical plants to your garden adds some fun and sometimes a conversation starter. Great texture and just that sense of “hey, that doesn’t belong here” and “that’s cool!” Let us know if we can help you add some southern fun in your gardens.

For 15 years Crystal Hopkins has been working in our office creating and finishing designs that we put out. Her designs have grown over the years and now include full construction details. A plant lover, she’s opened my eyes to a different planting palette that has made our designs that much better. She recently accepted our landscape design award at Congress this year and hopefully we can gather a few more.
I’m very proud of her recent accomplishment acquiring her certification as an accredited Landscape Designer. Looks like I have to get new business cards! Congratulations Crystal and thank you for bringing your creativity to our table. 👏

Thanks for everybody’s vote on how many bags of polymeric sand we swept into the joints of our Townhall and Brussels paver driveway. And we’re not done yet! 82 bags covered about 1800sq ft in this application. Polymeric sand is a quality jointing material that hardens to reduce chances of w**d growth and give a more stable installation. Standard procedure for our company in this application.
We had a lot of guesses from 50-100. I will admit my guess was 82😉Thanks for playing everybody. Stay tuned for more updates.

Sanding our upper half of our Old South driveway because the suns out. Whats your guess for how many bags of polysand? Will post the answer tomorrow!

I love unique details. But those curves take a lot of cutting. Big day at our Baseline project installing our herringbone driveway. Loving the way this one’s coming together!
