A properly poured concrete driveway will last you for many years to come. Asphalt gives you significantly less, and that is with resealing it every two to three years the entire time. Sealing asphalt is not optional maintenance, it is what keeps it from going brittle. Concrete gets sealed occasionally and mostly gets left alone.

Concrete season is nearly done for 2026.

This one is not a sales line, it is the calendar. Concrete needs to build real strength before it takes its first freezing cycle. Once we are past that point, a pour still gets done, it just needs heated mixes, accelerators and insulated blankets, and that all lands on the quote.

So the honest answer changes around late October. Before that: yes, we can get you in. After that: we will monitor the weather more closely to determine pouring schedules.

"We'll do it in the spring."

We hear it every October, and here is what happens next. Spring arrives, every contractor in Southwestern Ontario is booked solid.

Meanwhile Fall is one of the best times of year to pour. Cooler air and higher humidity mean the slab cures slower and more evenly, and a slow cure is a stronger slab. The only real deadline is getting it in before it takes a hard freeze.
