Look up and you’ll see one of the most unique details in this custom camper van.

Inspired by the Thames River in London, Ontario, this sculptural ceiling was completely designed and built by hand. Each curve was carefully laid out and shaped using cordless Milwaukee tools — no CNC machining, no shortcuts, just hours of hands-on craftsmanship.

But it’s more than a statement piece.

The integrated Govee smart lighting system lets you completely change the atmosphere from your phone. With the ability to:
Choose from almost any colour
Sync lighting to music
Run preset effects, from thunderstorms to emergency lighting
Customize individual sections with different colours and lengths
Adjust brightness and set automatic timers
Connect with Alexa or Google Home

Whether it’s soft ambient lighting after a day on the road or an animated light show at camp, the ceiling can set the mood for whatever comes next.

This build is loaded with adventure-ready upgrades, including a Remora roof rack and side ladder, Aluminess rear ladder and racking, an Owl Vans Monster Box, light bar, ditch lights, and a Fiamma awning.

Van life looks different than social media often makes it seem.
 
Yes, there are incredible campsites, mountain views, and lakeside sunsets. But there are also rainy mornings, grocery store parking lots, ferry lineups, and long driving days. That’s all part of the experience.
 
The biggest misconception? That van life is about giving up comfort. In reality, a well-designed custom camper van can include everything from heated floors and a full kitchen to an indoor shower, air conditioning, Starlink, and enough power to stay off-grid for days.
 
The truth is that van life isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some owners work remotely, some escape on weekends, some travel full-time, and others build a van to support their favourite hobbies. That’s why every ShopDog van is designed around the people who’ll actually use it.

This custom van features a 32-inch wet bath complete with a shower, Nature’s Head composting toilet, and a Nautilus retractable door that disappears when you don’t need it. Just outside, a rotating sliding dressing mirror adds extra functionality without taking up valuable floor space.
