After years of service to our customers and community, Scott is retiring from Strasbourg Bldg & Home Supply. As we celebrate his next adventure, we’re also beginning the search for a new team member to step into his position.
🌲 We're Hiring: Lumberyard Manager

Position Overview: We’re looking for a reliable, experienced, and community-minded Lumberyard Manager to lead daily operations, support our staff, and ensure our customers get the best service and products possible. This is a leadership role with a hands-on approach—perfect for someone who knows the industry and values relationships as much as results.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day yard operations, inventory, and staff scheduling
• Manage purchasing, receiving, and stock control of lumber and building materials
• Lead and mentor a small team of yard workers and delivery drivers
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient yard and storefront
• Build strong relationships with contractors, homeowners, and suppliers
• Ensure excellent customer service and problem-solving on the spot
• Monitor margins, and sales performance
• Collaborate with ownership on business strategy and growth
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience in lumber, hardware, or building supply industry
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Strong organizational and communication abilities
• Comfortable with inventory systems and basic computer tasks
• Forklift certification and Class 5 driver’s license preferred
• Physically capable of lifting and moving materials (up to 75 lbs)
• A positive attitude and commitment to community values
