Why hire an electrician and not get the work ESA approved and inspected for insurance and peace of mind? I never understand why people would pay the “premium” for a licensed trade and not follow through for the whole point of hiring someone that can actually pull a permit and is insured for the work. Good luck getting insurance to pay out when no permit was pulled and / or your electrician isn’t and cannot be insured for the work to begin with. Another Beachcomber Hot Tubs inspected and passed here in Stouffville, ON. And we also got a 5 Star Google review for it.

We like testing our installations. For surveillance camera installation expertise we have you covered. We have a favourite system and we use it our own house. It’s not what you’d expect.

Your alarms have an expiry date. Do you know yours? 🚨

Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms every month using the test button, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

✅ Smoke alarms: replace at 10 years, or sooner if the manufacturer specifies. Hardwired alarms expire too.
✅ CO alarms: check the expiry date. Lifespan varies by model.
✅ Follow battery, cleaning and replacement instructions. Never disable an alarm.
✅ Know the difference between a maintenance chirp and an emergency alarm.

If a CO emergency alarm sounds, get everyone outside immediately and call 911 from outside.

For all of the Engineers and Industrial Designers out there, when designing products, you are not always selling directly to the consumer. It is often installers who drive and shape product sales based on ease of installation. The installers become the gatekeepers.

There are certain products that we typically try not to install. They are generally good products, but horrible to work with in the field. When competing products provide the same performance, the installation convenience can make the sale.

It takes the smallest product considerations to make a product stand out. This is one example where minor details go a long way.

We were installing a security system today and this unit provided a harness to hang the unit while making connections into very high quality lever connectors. Even though the gimbal camera light is bulky and heavy, it was an easy one person operation. Very low cost of implementation, but a big impact. It also makes it safer when working at heights.

I think the wind was in my favour a bit. Trying to push myself. Not easy to keep the physical activity going after physical work days. I love the BMC Roadmachine and cannot go back after having electronic shifting now. Clear mind makes for better decisions and less stress. Great Thanksgiving weekend ride.
