Well due to the weather this is as far as we got today. Just like that it went from dryish to flooded and from clear to my wipers not keeping up!

We do our best to stay on schedule and keep our quote appointments but some days it’s just not in our control.

Today is one of those days so I’m going to embrace it and get caught up on some inside work.

Stay dry, stay warm and lets hope for some sunshine soon ☀️

Commercial Lawn Maintenance Technician

Landscape FX Ltd. is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team for commercial and residential lawn maintenance, with opportunities to assist on landscaping projects throughout the season.

Whether you're looking for seasonal work or hoping to build a long-term career in the landscaping industry, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

* Lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing
* Commercial and residential property maintenance
* General property clean-up
* Operating and maintaining commercial lawn equipment
* Assisting with landscaping projects as required
* Providing professional and courteous customer service
* Following company safety procedures and maintaining a clean work environment

Qualifications

* Experience in lawn maintenance or landscaping is an asset
* Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence **required**
* Current driver's abstract required
* Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
* Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
* Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Willing to take direction and follow instructions
* Uses good judgment, takes initiative, and applies common sense
* Reliable, punctual, and dependable
* Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
* Attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
* Comfortable operating commercial lawn maintenance equipment or willing to learn
* Professional, respectful, and courteous with clients and coworkers

Landscaping season has officially become Monsoon Season… so I guess it’s time to transition our business plan. 😉 🚤

In all seriousness, with the amount of rain we’re expecting, now is the time to prepare. The ground is already saturated, and that water has to go somewhere.

A few things you can do today:
💧 Clean out your downspouts and add extensions if needed.
💧 Check your sump pump to make sure it’s working properly and that the discharge hose is attached and directing water well away from your foundation.
💧 Dig a small trench, if necessary, to help redirect water away from problem areas.
💧 Check your basement windows and window wells. If you can’t permanently address an issue right away, use poly to temporarily divert water and minimize damage until repairs can be made.

One silver lining? This weather is excellent at exposing grading and drainage problems. Take photos and videos of where the water is pooling or flowing. Those will be invaluable when it’s time to correct the issue once things dry out.
