Feature Ingredient in our Living Soil and Natural Fertilizers

CRAB MEAL

Crab meal is a stellar product for giving your gardens a natural boost. Crab meal is organic and a great source for nitrogen, calcium, phosphorous. Crab meal is a slow-release fertilizer so it will not burn your plants and it will provide nutrients over a long period of time.
We try our hardest to source our products in Atlantic Canada to support local. Our crab meal comes from a small town in New Brunswick. We take a drive out there every spring and my wife and I make it a day to spend together. The drive there smells much better than the drive home ha-ha!!
Crab meal is an ingredient in both our Stellar Living soil (28L bag $25) and a component in our natural fertilizing amendments (1lb bag for $10). These natural fertilizers are available in both Grow and Bloom. The Grow pack is a great addition to your soil at the beginning of your growing season. Its as easy as a shake and a scratch in the soil to promote healthy growth. Our Bloom amendment is great for when plants become fruitful giving them that extra boost, that they need to be bountiful. If you wish, which many do, you can mix the two bags together for a multi purpose fertilizer.

Now is the time to re amend your garden! We have two options to get you started! We have Stellar Soil which is great for your bucket grows or to add as a top up to your garden bed. This is a great time of year to start your leaf compost! On the left is fresh leaves and on the right are 1 year old composted leaves. All you have to do is gather your leaves, put them in garbage bag or a pile outside, put them somewhere and forget them. It helps if the stay wet. It will take anywhere from 1 yr to 2 yrs and after that you have a beautiful compost to add to your garden!
The leaf compost is fugally dominated which is slow to break down unlike a bacterial compost which would have vegetable, grass and food scraps in it which breaks down a lot faster(a few months)
