Not too often do I get to see what my work looks like after paint and trim , glad I was able to see this one , after all the hard work , it was a challenge and it paid off , the homeowners were very happy and I received very nice compliments from them

This bedroom was definitely a challenge, between cutting 4x8 sheets down to 40"× 8' so they could get boomed in through the window and all the angles , it turned out beautifully!
I love when a challenge becomes something that the homeowner will appreciate,

Can you do this ? Yes absolultey but heres why you shouldn't and may also not be able to , if its been painted it doesn't tend to scrape easy even with water ( plus a garden hose is overkill and shouldn't be used!!!!)
The main reason is popcorn like this often contained asbestos in it in the early years and even in some cases up unitl the 80's
Fortunately if you dont want to get asbestosis poisoning which is very bad you can hire either a remediation company to deal with it which can be very costly or hire a professional such as myself which can either skim coat over it in most cases or worst case scenario, strap and board over it sacrificing only just over an inch of ceilign height . You can always get it tested before you scrape it off yourself as well
