This time of year always feels fleeting - blink, and you miss it! So we’re here, soaking up the beautiful fall colors, knowing we’re one windstorm away from it being over.

It was time for this home to get an update. The beams were the only thing that stayed, so we made sure the stain that our client chose would work well together with them. By removing the peninsula and creating a larger island, we opened up the floor plan to make it more user friendly. The clients are thrilled with their newly updated kitchen - and we think it looks great too!

It’s rare that we have to deal with a post in the middle of a kitchen, but in this loft in a historic building, there was no way around it. We added a filler behind the post and made sure there was enough clearance for the drawers to open on either side. The result it a beautiful, usable space that doesn’t try to hide the architectural elements that make this space unique, rather, it embraces them.

Integrated appliances for the win! This side by side fridge and freezer integrate beautifully into the cabinetry, with storage above. These appliances will last for 30+ years. If you are choosing integrated appliances, we always recommend high quality, since the cabinetry is literally built around them.

Storage for spices is something that comes up a lot during the course of designing a kitchen. One of the options for spices is an insert fitted into a drawer, great for easy viewing and access if your containers are small.
