Today, we had a bit of a later start to give the initial coat some extra time to dry, but we still managed to mask off all the surrounding areas and furniture before sanding, then get all the horizontal joints and the seams where the existing and new rounded corner beads meet second-coated.

Furthermore, we kicked off another bank project today. 🔨

This one involved making a few framing adjustments, installing drywall, taping, and applying the filling and/or initial coat of mud wherever possible.

Today’s focus was all about completing the initial coat of mud throughout the basement.

Nothing too flashy just yet 😅, but every coat gets us one step closer to smooth, finished walls and putting this basement back together properly. 😉

Today at our basement restoration, our focus was on getting the drywall reinstalled and ready for finishing. 🔨

We cut 45° bevels on both the existing and new drywall edges to create a better joint for taping — helping with bonding strength, mud application, and drying time.

From there, we cleaned everything up, taped the joints, and installed the rounded corner beads and 45° angle beads.

Another solid step forward and one step closer to making this basement look like nothing ever happened. 😉

Rebuilt. 🔨

From there, we repaired the existing v***r barrier and installed new insulation and v***r barrier wherever needed. We also disconnected the outlets and safely wrapped them with electrical tape, added backing where needed, then marked and secured all the studs above the drywall cuts.

Nothing too exciting to look at just yet 😅, but all the little prep work matters and makes a big difference when it’s time to start putting everything back together properly. 😉

Once all the business side of the project was handled and everything was discussed and finalized with the clients, it was time to start making some actual progress. 🔨

We started by finishing up the demolition and getting everything to a much cleaner, more “ready-to-rebuild” stage — cleaning up the drywall cuts, removing leftover screws and nails.

Today we picked up and started a new basement renovation! 🔨🏠

We got everything organized, worked out the final details with the clients, picked up and delivered materials, selected and ordered new carpet for the bedroom and LVP for the living room, and officially kicked off the project!

Looking forward to bringing this basement back to life and sharing the progress along the way! 😉

Today we made our last required visit to the Dewberry bank!

We applied the final coat and made sure everything was left as smooth and clean as possible, keeping the sanding to a minimum for the painter.

Another step checked off and this project is getting very close to the finish line
