No hi-vis, hard hats and work boots for one night. We traded all of that for a little sparkle and a night out at the 1000 Women Gala ✨

The 1000 Women initiative at NorQuest College brings women together to open doors for learners who face real barriers: bursaries for women in STEM, childcare for parents in school, and emergency help for students in a tight spot.

The growth of 1000 Women (One Thousand Women: A Million Possibilities) has been genuinely inspiring to watch. A movement moves this quickly for one reason: what it does truly matters.

It was a genuinely good night, spent together for something worth showing up for.
Proud to stand behind the women this cause supports 💛

We take every project seriously from the day we break ground, and it stays with us long after. Drive through Crystal Creek today, and our team can still point out the work: where the trenches ran, who set the hydrants, how the pipe went in. That calm pond in the middle? Early on, it was just a rain puddle with a few birds on it.

It started as our client's vision, brought to life by a lot of hands. Today it's more than a project — it's a neighbourhood, and home to the families moving in.

Swipe through to see what it took.

We're looking for experienced Superintendents.

There's a feeling that comes with running a site. Leading the crews, standing behind the work, from the first cut to final acceptance. That kind of pride doesn't come with every job.

This one involves leading Foremen through complex tie-ins to live systems, backed by a team that puts safety and doing the work right first. And it offers something rare in a seasonal industry: stable, year-round work.

It's a senior position for a seasoned hand with underground experience. The next step is simple: check the job description at the link below and submit an application. We'd be glad to have a conversation.

Apply at: https://gsconstruction.bamboohr.com/careers/88

And for anyone reading this with someone in mind, send it their way. A quick share can make a real impact on a career.

Filmed one day after a heavy rain, with high temperatures right behind it. It's been an unusual season, with weather swings and flooded sites, but our crews stay on top of the work no matter what the weather brings.

We were honoured to support BILD Edmonton Metro Construction Safety Week and host the Construction Safety Bootcamp at our headquarters.

A strong reminder that safety conversations, training, and sharing field experience matter at every level of the industry, and that building safer workplaces takes ongoing effort from all of us.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize, support, and take part in the week.

Last week was BILD Edmonton Metro’s first-ever Construction Safety Week — a chance to recognize workers across the construction industry who show up every day, committed to protecting one another.

A special thank you goes to the health and safety professionals, organizers, volunteers, site teams, and industry partners who helped make the week possible.

We were proud to support and host the Construction Safety Bootcamp at our headquarters as part of BILD Edmonton Metro Construction Safety Week yesterday.

The event brought together industry partners, leadership, and crews with a shared focus on construction safety and the importance of ongoing training and education.

It was a great opportunity to connect, share knowledge, discuss best practices, and continue strengthening the culture of safety across the industry.

Thank you, BILD Edmonton Metro, for organizing the event, and thank you to everyone who participated.

At our previous facility, we constructed a dedicated training trench that provided our teams with a realistic environment for Trench Rescue Training—a vital space for developing skills, practising shoring techniques, and reinforcing the importance of safety in challenging scenarios.

When we transitioned to the new building, re-establishing this crucial training area was a top priority. The updated trench is now more expansive, featuring reinforced concrete walls, sturdy grating, integrated safety steps, multiple tie-off points, and a precast manhole to enhance training versatility.

Every aspect has been carefully considered to ensure a safe, immersive, and practical training experience, allowing crews to prepare for real-life situations with confidence and competence.

Thank you Cooper Trench Safety and Task Concrete for your support on this project!
