🎡 The Norfolk County Fair is fast approaching, which means hot tub sales are just around the corner!

And we all know someone who loves a good deal and an impulse purchase 😂

But before you get caught up in the excitement of a great sale and bring home a hot tub, there are a few things worth thinking about first.

⚡ Did you know there’s a new code requirement involving a bonding ring for hot tub installations?

The bonding ring needs to be taken into consideration before the concrete slab is poured, so it’s something you’ll want to know about before getting too far into your plans.

A few other things to think about:

Can your electrical panel handle the extra load?
Do you have room for the required breaker?
Where are you planning to put the hot tub, and how will it be powered?

A hot tub might seem like a pretty straightforward purchase, but there’s a bit more to getting it set up than just finding the perfect one on sale!

So if a hot tub is on your Norfolk County Fair shopping list this year, keep these things in mind before you make that impulse buy. 😉

A huge congratulations to Mason Snively on another incredible weekend!

He came out with 3 first place finishes in Youth, 250 Junior, and Open Junior, and closed out the East Series Championship with 2 First place finishes and a Second place finish!

It has been an absolute pleasure watching him grow this season in his motocross career. Mason is dedicated, driven and hardworking, and one of the kindest, most respectful young riders. Keep pushing! ☑️ Installed all new wiring from top of the mast to new panel
☑️ Removed 100A Fuse Panel
☑️ Installed new 100A Breaker Panel

What we’ve been up to recently:

Last week we upgraded this home from 100A to 200A.
Client was adding a 60A hardwired level 2 EV charger with another future charger installed in the garage.
We installed the new panel in the garage and ran power to the old panel in the basement, then added the EV charger on the exterior of the home.

To the girl that keeps the wheels in motion! Sometimes my mind is in other places (lately all the time), sometimes I feel as if there is to much on the go! But she is right there pushing me! Telling me that I can do this and making all the behind the scenes happen from the family scheduling to making the wheels turn with the business! To making sure I drink my water 😂When I was in a spot last week where I just didn’t want to think about the business she was getting some new business cards lined up! The business really wouldn’t flow with how much she puts into it behind the scenes! And I hope Jodie Boerkamp knows that!

How about that pop up storm on Canada Day eh?!

We were up bright and early on an emergency call to one of our long time clients who had a tree come down on their direct hydro line, pulling it away from their barn and knocking out power to them for 22 hours!!

Luckily Walker Electrical installed an automatic generator for them last year, so they didn’t have to melt with no AC or lose any food with these extreme temps.

We were pretty grateful to have been able to help our clients with this one! It’s time like this that remind us why we do this job, and how much we love helping people in our community. 🤍💡🇨🇦

Is it just us, or has Norfolk County turned into a sauna this week?!☀️

While everyone is trying to stay cool this week, it’s a good reminder that extreme heat can put extra strain on the electrical system in your home. Air conditioners are running nonstop, fans are working overtime, and electrical panels are carrying heavier loads than usual.

If you’ve noticed flickering lights, tripping breakers, or anything that seems out of the ordinary, don’t ignore it.
