We are pleased to welcome Amit Saxena to Vertex as our Senior Wildlife Technical Lead.
Based in our Calgary Blackfoot office, Amit will serve as the accountable technical lead for our Wildlife teams across Canada. He will also provide leadership, mentorship, and client management support to our Biophysical teams, helping drive growth across several key sectors.
Amit is a senior wildlife ecologist and environmental and regulatory leader with 33 years of professional experience. His expertise includes wildlife surveys and inventories, species-at-risk conservation and recovery, biodiversity measurement and reporting, environmental impact assessment, operational impact mitigation, environmental management planning, land reclamation and restoration, multi-stakeholder land-use planning, and environmental permitting and disposition management.
His career spans government, consulting, energy, and mining, with extensive experience in Alberta’s oil sands region. A recognized industry leader in oil sands environmental matters, Amit has represented the sector through the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) on numerous high-profile policy issues.
Throughout his career, Amit has built strong relationships with resource developers, research and academic institutions, government agencies, regulators, Indigenous communities and governments, and environmental non-governmental organizations.
A proven leader in technical excellence and team development, Amit will help expand our capabilities and strengthen the support we provide to clients across Canada.
