💙 We're thinking of everyone in our community as wildfire smoke continues to impact our region.
With wildfire smoke affecting air quality across Sault Ste. Marie and Northern Ontario, many families are experiencing hazy skies, the smell of smoke, and increased allergy or respiratory symptoms. If you or someone in your home has asthma, allergies, or other breathing concerns, this can be an especially difficult time.
While we can't control the air outside, there are a few things you can do to help make the air inside your home a little cleaner and more comfortable.
🏡 Keep your HVAC system well maintained. Regular maintenance helps ensure your system is operating efficiently and that your filtration system is working as it should.
🌿 Consider upgrading to a high-efficiency media filter. These filters can capture more of the fine particles that wildfire smoke brings into the air, along with everyday dust, pollen, and other airborne contaminants.
✨ Ask about UV air purification. UV lights installed within your HVAC system help reduce microbial growth inside the equipment, helping keep your system cleaner.
🐾 Whole-home air purifiers can make a real difference. They're especially beneficial for families with young children, allergy sufferers, pets, or anyone looking to improve their home's indoor air quality throughout the year.
If you're unsure whether your home is doing everything it can to protect your indoor air, don't hesitate to reach out. Even if it's just for advice, we're always happy to answer questions and help point you in the right direction.
