A few years ago, Tamara and her daughter arrived in Canada after being forced to leave Ukraine because of the war. Like so many families facing unimaginable circumstances, they were searching for safety, stability, and a chance to start over.

Tamara joined our team and quickly became part of the DKI SDS family. About a year later, Artur was able to join them in Canada and eventually joined our team as well. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of watching him grow into a leadership role with our Commercial & Complex Claims division.

This week, they surprised us with a homemade cake after receiving their permanent residency.

While the cake was incredibly thoughtful, what we’re really celebrating is something much bigger.

We’re celebrating a family that showed incredible resilience. A family that built a new life from the ground up. A family that can now put down roots, plan for the future, and continue creating a safe and happy life for their daughter.

Artur and Tamara, we are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and so grateful that our paths crossed along the way.

Congratulations on this incredible milestone. We couldn’t be happier for your family and all that lies ahead. ❤️🇨🇦

Recognition like this is a reflection of what happens when experience, teamwork, and determination come together.

Last week at the DKI Canada Ltd. EVOLVE 2026 Conference and AGM in Toronto, our team had the opportunity to connect with restoration professionals from across the country, learn from industry-leading speakers, and share ideas that continue to move our industry forward.

One of the proudest moments of the week came during the DKI Canada Awards Gala, where DKI - Saskatoon Disaster Services was honoured with the 2026 DKI Canada Platinum Project Award.

This award recognizes excellence in managing a large, complex restoration project that demands exceptional planning, technical expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration from start to finish.

Complex losses are never the work of one person. They require an entire team of dedicated professionals working together under pressure, adapting to challenges, and remaining focused on delivering the best possible outcome for clients when they need it most.

We are incredibly proud of our team for earning this recognition. Every technician, project manager, estimator, administrator, and support staff member played a role in making this achievement possible.

Thank you to our amazing team for your commitment, professionalism, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Your hard work continues to set the standard and demonstrates what can be accomplished when great people work toward a common goal.

This award is a celebration of the people behind the project, and we could not be more proud.

Well… we’re back on the prairies after a week in Toronto, and while the views were great, we’re pretty excited to be home. 🌾✈️

The conference with was incredible (as always), and we’re coming back inspired, energized, and ready to keep pushing forward for our team, clients, and community here in Saskatchewan.

A few highlights from the trip (in no particular order 👇)

🏆 Bringing home the Platinum Project Award
❤️ Celebrating over $1 million raised for the Bringing Families Home Campaign with
🎤 Hearing from about resilience, mindset, and her journey to the Olympics & Amazing Race Canada
🤝 Connecting with fellow DKI members from across the country and learning from the best in the business
⚾ Watching the Blue Jays crush the Pittsburgh Pirates

Most importantly, we’re bringing back new ideas, stronger connections, and a renewed focus on continuing to evolve as a team so we can better support the communities we serve every single day.

Fun Fact: We were so confident we weren’t going to win that we even put together prizes for the wining team! We were proud to hand them off to the team that came in second place (and last years winners) !
