A home can stand out without feeling out of place.

For this Queen Elizabeth build, the goal was to create an exterior that felt timeless within the neighbourhood while still bringing its own character to the street.

Warm wood tones, classic architectural details, durable materials, and the bold green front door all work together to create a home that feels welcoming, intentional, and built to last.

What exterior detail do you think gives a home the most character?

One of the biggest advantages of a design + build team is that design decisions are never made in isolation.

From the earliest planning stages, our design and carpentry teams work together to ensure ideas are not only beautiful, but practical, buildable, and aligned with the project's budget.

Because the people designing the home are working directly with the people building it, decisions can be evaluated through both a design and construction lens from the beginning.

The result is a home that stays true to the original vision while being thoughtfully executed every step of the way.

Considering a custom build? We'd be happy to answer any questions about our design + build process.

The homes in “The Commune” may have very different styles, but there were a few features both sisters agreed were worth the investment.

From spa-inspired steam showers and functional mudrooms to inviting spaces for spending time with family and friends, these are the rooms and features that made both sisters’ must-have lists.

Different homes. Shared priorities.

Which feature would be at the top of your list?

We’re excited to share that one of our favourite projects has been featured in the Summer issue of Saskatoon HOME Magazine.

“The Commune” is a unique project that brought three family homes together on neighbouring lots, creating a modern-day village where connection, community, and thoughtful design come together.

We’re incredibly grateful to the homeowners for trusting us with their vision, and to .home Magazine for sharing their story.

A closer look at The Commune.

Although sisters Janice and Marilyn built their homes side-by-side, no two homes are alike.

One embraces a warm, craftsman-inspired aesthetic with more defined spaces and timeless details. The other is bright and contemporary, designed for gathering, entertaining, and bringing people together.

Every family has different routines, priorities, and ways of living. That's why we believe every home should be designed around the people who call it home.

Which style speaks to you most?

The Art House.

This renovation was designed to feel brighter, calmer, and more connected to the homeowners and the way they live in the space.

With a strong love for art and creativity throughout the home, the goal was to create a backdrop that allowed those pieces and personal details to stand out without competing with the architecture around them.

By simplifying the palette, opening up the space visually, and leaning into the natural light, the home became a reflection of both the people living there and the collection they’ve built over time.

One of the most requested home upgrades year after year?

More storage. 👏

From butler pantries to hidden pantries, built-in mudrooms, extra kitchen storage, to better closet layouts; people want homes that feel beautiful and function well for real life.

Because no one has ever said:

“Wow, this house has way too much storage.” 😂

And honestly? We get it.

What’s one feature you couldn’t live without in a custom home? 👀
