Meet Brent, one of our Steamfitters/Pipefitters at STC Industrial Contracting! Brent is one of our newer team members, having joined us just three months ago. His role includes working with piping systems and assisting our ironworkers and welders on a variety of projects.

What Brent enjoys most about his job is being part of a positive, hardworking crew that works together to get the job done.

What inspired Brent to get into the industry?
The opportunity to work shift schedules that fit his lifestyle.

Something people may not know about him?
Outside of work, Brent enjoys "gym therapy" and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

When asked what makes STC Industrial Contracting a great place to work, Brent says, “It’s an Indigenous-owned company and has great people.”

His advice for anyone interested in joining the team?

Summer Student Highlight

This summer, we're proud to welcome some incredible students to the STC Industrial Group team! First up is Lainey.

Lainey is entering her final year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting at the Edwards School of Business. This summer, she is supporting our Accounting team with day-to-day operations while gaining valuable hands-on experience that will help prepare her for her future career.

After completing her degree, Lainey plans to pursue her CPA designation and hopes to bring the knowledge and experience she gains back to her home community of Poundmaker Cree Nation.

One of the things she enjoys most about working with STC Industrial Group is the supportive environment, where she feels comfortable asking questions and learning as she navigates her role.

Fun fact: Lainey enjoys figure skating! ⛸️

We're excited to have Lainey on the team this summer and look forward to supporting her professional journey.

Meet Brad, one of our Welder/Fabricators at STC Industrial Contracting! Brad will celebrate one year with the team this July. His role includes measuring, repairing, and replacing structural steel and handrails.

What inspired Brad to get into the industry?
“I've always enjoyed building things.”

One of his favourite parts about the job is working with good people and the work-life balance that comes with the position.

Something people may not know about him?
Outside of work, Brad enjoys playing the guitar, hiking, and fishing.

When asked what makes STC Industrial Contracting a great place to work, Brad points to the great people and competitive wages.

His advice for anyone interested in joining the team?
“Honesty is the best policy, come prepared to work, and safety is number one.”

Today, members of our team were honoured to attend the Mistawasis Nêhiyawak Treaty Day.

The day provided an opportunity to learn, listen, and reflect on the significance of Treaty relationships, while recognizing the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations Peoples.

We are grateful to Mistawasis Nêhiyawak for their hospitality and for creating space for meaningful conversations, cultural sharing, and community connection.

Last week, we had the privilege of attending the 18th Annual RCE Saskatchewan Awards for Achievement in Education for Sustainable Development, where we were honoured to receive a Recognition Award.

These awards celebrate organizations and initiatives that promote sustainability through education, community engagement, and meaningful action. Recipients demonstrate leadership in advancing social well-being, economic prosperity, and environmental responsibility while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Meet Andrew, one of our Journeyman Fabricators at STC Industrial Contracting! Andrew has been part of the team for 3 years and plays a key role in welding, ironwork, rigging, and millwrighting projects.

What inspired Andrew to get into the industry?
“I always enjoyed building things as a kid.”

One of his favourite parts about the job is working alongside his buddies and being part of a crew that works well together.

Something people may not know about him?
He enjoys spending his free time working on vehicles and being outdoors.

When asked what makes STC Industrial Contracting a great place to work, Andrew says it’s the strong teamwork and crew environment.

His advice for anyone interested in joining the trades?
“A reliable vehicle definitely helps.”
