🏆 5th Annual Steely Cup! 🥎

Last week, we hosted the 5th annual Steely Cup, bringing together five teams for an afternoon of softball, friendly competition and plenty of laughs!

This year, we welcomed two new teams to the tournament, Prairie Machine and Inland Steel, joining the founding teams Supreme Steel, JNE and Keys Welding Service.

While we didn’t take the Cup home this year, congratulations to JNE on claiming the 2026 Steely Cup! 🏆

We're Hiring | Paint Shop Labourer

Join the team at Keys Welding Service, a division of the STC Industrial Group of Companies!

We're looking for a Paint Shop Labourer to support our paint shop and fabrication team at our North Corman Industrial Park facility. If you're reliable, safety-focused, and ready to learn in a fast-paced industrial environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do:
✔ Prepare parts for painting (cleaning, sanding, masking, hanging)
✔ Assist with moving materials and general shop duties
✔ Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
✔ Work alongside an experienced team while developing valuable skills

Previous paint shop or industrial labour experience is an asset, but we're willing to train the right candidate.

Today, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Today is an opportunity to listen, learn and reflect on the history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system, and to honour Survivors, their families and communities.

Reconciliation is not an event, but a journey. It is an ongoing commitment to building understanding, strengthening relationships and creating opportunities for Indigenous people and communities.

Today, we take time to reflect, learn and consider the role each of us can play in moving reconciliation forward.

Our offices will be closed on September 30.

In recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our offices will be closed tomorrow to provide our team with time to reflect, learn and honour Survivors, their families and communities impacted by the residential school system.

For those looking for an opportunity to gather, learn and take part in community, the Saskatoon Tribal Council’s Every Child Matters Pow Wow is taking place at SaskTel Centre today and tomorrow, September 29 and 30.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Grand Entries take place at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. both days.

We will resume regular operations on October 1.

We are proud to be the 2026 Indigenous Business Leadership Award recipient at the ABEX Awards!

This award recognizes an Indigenous-owned business that has demonstrated exceptional leadership, measurable growth, and meaningful economic impact in Saskatchewan, and we are honoured to receive it.

For us, this recognition is about more than an award. It reflects the work we are doing to create opportunities, build careers, grow Indigenous participation in industry, and contribute to the long-term economic development of the seven member Nations of the Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC).

We are proud of how far STC Industrial Group has come, and even more proud of the people who continue to make that growth possible.

We were also honoured to be named finalists in the Growth & Expansion – Medium & Large Business and Workplace Excellence categories.

Congratulations to all of the 2026 ABEX finalists and award recipients. It was an honour to be recognized alongside so many Saskatchewan businesses and organizations doing meaningful work across our province.

A special thank you to Cameco for sponsoring the Indigenous Business Leadership Award and to the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce for hosting an evening that brought together Saskatchewan businesses and leaders to celebrate this year's achievements.

Meet Kalene, who has been part of the Keys Welding Service team for five years!

As a welder, Kalene enjoys the friendships she’s built with her coworkers and the atmosphere in the shop. She was inspired to pursue a career in welding by a friend who had her own welding truck, showing her what was possible in the industry.

For Kalene, it’s the people in the shop that make STC Industrial Group a great place to work. Her advice to anyone starting out is to work hard, be willing to listen, and enjoy the atmosphere.

Outside of work, Kalene enjoys spending time with family and staying active through hockey, golf, and soccer.

We’re glad to have Kalene as part of the KWS team!

Meet Riley, who has been part of the STC Industrial Contracting team for five years!

As a welder, Riley’s work includes industrial maintenance, welding, and equipment operation. He enjoys the variety that comes with the job, especially working in new environments and taking on different challenges.

Riley grew up around the industry, with his dad also working in the trades, which inspired him to follow a similar path. Five years into his career with STCIC, it’s the people he works with that continue to be one of his favourite parts of the job.

Outside of work, Riley stays busy playing hockey on a few different teams, including both ball hockey and ice hockey.

We’re glad to have Riley as part of the STC Industrial Contracting team!

Meet Steven, who has been part of the STC Industrial Contracting team for three years!

As a pipefitter, Steven works on structural steel installation and is always willing to lend a hand to his coworkers. He’s been working in the industry since he left high school, and over the years, he’s built some great friendships with the people he works alongside.

For Steven, the coworkers, good pay, and shorter work weeks are some of the things that make STC Industrial Group a great place to work.

When he’s not at work, Steven enjoys herbal teas, art, and classical music.

His advice to anyone joining the team is simple: “Don’t be scared to ask questions. Speak up.”
