This is what it looks like to build a custom home.

When you build, it can often feel like it takes awhile to get to the “exciting parts”. Looking through line item quotes, discussing things like electrical orientation and plumbing, and maybe having a few tense moments along the way.

But all good things take time, and that’s exactly why we don’t rush through the process.

Now that's a kitchen we can all dream about 🤩

When this family came to us, they knew their kitchen just wasn't working for them anymore.

The vision was simple. They wanted more storage, a modern aesthetic and the most important piece - a bigger island.

And they got exactly that. We increased their storage, extended the bar area to add more function to the space, added more square feet to the island and made sure every detail was designed around how they actually use the space.

Now they enjoy cooking as a family in their open concept kitchen, while the kids hang out and craft at the island. The best part? There’s enough storage for all of it to be tucked away before dinner hits the table.

Hi, we're Dean and Ian, the brothers behind Spruce Homes and the guys who will be with you every step of your build.

Between the two of us we’ve spent our entire careers learning this industry from every angle.

Dean got his start on job sites at 18, working through the trades and developing his signature perfectionist eye.

Ian found his passion in a high school wood shop and spent years working in cabinet making, spray finishing, and project management for residential builders right here in Saskatoon.

We’ve been on the tools, we’ve managed projects, and we’ve seen every part of what it takes to build a home properly from start to finish.

When we took ownership of Spruce Homes in 2024 we brought one thing with us that has always been a part of how we work: the belief that you are not just another project.

We value honesty, transparency and take a personal approach with every client we build with, because we care about the experience you have and the home you end up with. Our goal is for the process to feel collaborative, enjoyable, and as stress free as possible, because we know this is one of the biggest investments of your life.

The most beautiful views in a custom built home don't happen by accident.

Before we ever talk about window placement or sight lines, we start by asking how you actually live.

Do you have kids playing in the backyard you want to keep an eye on from the kitchen? A view out front that deserves a porch to sit on in the evenings? Do you work from home and need a space that feels separate from the rest of the house?
