We stand together in grief, support, and solidarity with our friends at Lambton College and with our community as a whole. Our deepest condolences go out to all those affected by this tragedy and senseless act of violence.

Lambton College is deeply saddened to share that an individual has died following a shooting early this morning during a Student Administrative Council event at a pub on the Sarnia Main Campus. Two other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

This loss is a profound tragedy. We extend our deepest condolences to the individual’s family, loved ones and friends and to everyone affected by this staggering loss. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this senseless act of violence.

The Sarnia campus remains closed today, Friday, April 10. This closure is inclusive of all classes and services at the Main Campus, Fire School, Skilled Trades Training Centre, EarlyON Child & Family Centre, Community Employment Services, and Capstone's Bistro. The Ottawa Campus is not impacted. We ask our community to please avoid campus.

Support is being provided to members of the Lambton College community through Counselling & Wellness and the Employee and Family Assistance Plan.

We continue to work closely with Sarnia Police Service as they investigate. We thank Sarnia Police Service and emergency services for their response. We also thank our Sarnia-Lambton community for their support at this difficult time. We ask that the privacy of our community members and their loved ones be respected.

Every kid deserves to go to camp!

Very proud to be part of this amazing local initiative. Hats off to the YMCA Jerry McCaw Family Centre Sarnia for everything they do for our community 👏🏻👏🏻

Our friends at J.D. Lawn Service have been keeping our property looking great for years, and now they’re making it look even better by getting more kids active at camp in the same beautiful outdoor space they maintain! A huge thank you to Bonnie and Heather for their very generous donation of $5,000 towards our Fill the Bus Campaign, which is enough to cover the cost of a full week of camp for 25 local children that can benefit from their wonderful gift.

J.D. Lawn is a local, family-owned and operated business with a commitment to all of their customers, and they have been giving back to multiple initiatives in our community for a long time. We are very grateful that they have chosen to support our Y once again with a special contribution. They might even have a crew of Landscapers represent at our Push the Bus event next Friday!
