Finishing some maple countertops with Osmo Poly X clear matte to start the day

A full day in the shop today preparing all the components of the leg assemblies and top frame. Each part is flat scraped to remove planer ripples and block sanded to level out the surfaces. Leg assemblies are glued and clamped. The last step was to join the leg assemblies to the top frame.
With the frame complete it’s on to the main body of the cabinet tomorrow.

Work continues on this custom piece. 2” material is sawn into pieces for legs and top. After jointing and planing pieces are glued up to form their respective components.

The first steps of turning a furniture design on the screen into reality. Looking at a selection of beautiful pieces of 2” American Cherry to decide how each piece will be broken down to form each element of the piece. More to follow as this project progresses
