Has your home backup generator had a service done recently?

This is a case of lack of annual maintenance, causing a build up of water in the oil system turning it into something that looks like coffee with cream.

When units are run for short periods of time (like their exercise test cycle) and under no load, condensation will build up in the oil - degrading lubrication properties and putting the system at a higher risk for premature failure.

Regardless of use, oil should be changed on an annual basis (and to maintain warranty!)

We were out in full force last week taking care of some municipal backup generators. 2 paralleled 500kw Cummins QSX 15’s for a 1MW backup system for a water treatment plant.

Implementing our new l**e skid on the service truck means a lot less lifting and a much cleaner job - no oil spills!

Not to mention our 550kw load bank trailer now setup
with full logging capabilities.
