As the hours of sun we get every start getting shorter, it becomes harder to keep pools warm. There is still so much more time for pool season though. Especially if you extend it with a pool heater. There is still time to heat up the last of summer folks!

Did you know that a running tap while washing dishes uses approximately 2-3 gallons (9 - 15 litres) of water per minute? While washing a single cup might not add up to much, washing a sink full of dishes with the water running wastes a significant amount of water. Do the math: 5 minutes = 10 - 15 gallons or 45-75 l.

If you fill the sink, you are looking at approximately 15 - 20 litres of water. Don't forget to fill the other basin for rinsing.

For those who have a dishwasher, your savings are even more, as an energy-star dishwasher uses 11 - 15 litres of water per load. Those savings go directly back into your pocket and saves clean water too. Something to keep in mind the next time you have dishes to do.
