The June 20th flash floods left many homeowners dealing with flooded basements, overwhelmed sump pump systems, damaged plumbing, and a lot of uncertainty.

To help assist as many families as possible, we’ve created a Flood Assistance Priority Form.

By completing the form, your information is added directly to our system and flagged for priority follow-up. Our team will review your submission and contact you as soon as possible to discuss your situation and next steps.

Our goal is to provide homeowners with guidance, assess the plumbing side of the damage, and help determine the best path forward for repairs and prevention.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the recent flash flooding this evening in the West Island. Seeing all the flooded streets and homes is very difficult, and we’re thinking of everyone impacted.

Many homeowners are asking how this could happen even when they have sump pumps or other protective measures in place. The reality is that the volume of rainfall we received in such a short period of time overwhelmed many municipal drainage systems and stormwater infrastructure. When an extreme weather event exceeds what the system can handle, water can back up and find its way into homes despite the precautions homeowners have taken, which was unfortunately the case for so many this evening.

If your home has been affected, your first priority is safety. Document any damage with photos and videos, and contact your insurance provider to begin the claims process as soon as possible.

Once the conditions have stabilized, our team will be here to assess your plumbing and drainage systems, identify any vulnerabilities, and recommend solutions that can help reduce the risk of future flooding in your homes.

Thank you to the first responders, hydro crews, municipal workers, and neighbours helping one another through this challenging time. The West Island is a resilient community, and together we’ll get through this.
