Designing a landscape around a red brick house?

Don’t default to more red or brown.

Create contrast with large-format pavers, soften the brick’s warmth with generous planting, and choose your paver colour based on the brick’s undertone.

For cooler red brick, try Para in Greyed Nickel.

For warmer, orange-red brick, consider Industria 600×900 in Caffè Crema.

Then echo the brick sparingly through a border, inlay, or step detail.

The goal isn’t to match the house, it’s to make the architecture feel connected to the landscape.

Save this for your next red brick project.

Good design is in the details, and this pattern speaks for itself.

slab brings the modern foundation, pavers brings the contrast, and the team pulled it off seamlessly.

You’ll definitely want to pocket this recipe for your own hardscape build.

Black accents create the connection, but warm tones make the space feel inviting.

slab in Caffè Crema and the natural wood look of Borealis slab bring warmth to the living areas, while paver in Onyx Black echoes the home’s architecture in a herringbone driveway.

The surrounding forest completes the palette with a softer, living backdrop.

The designer lesson: a cohesive landscape doesn’t match every surface.

It balances contrast with intentional repetition.

The larger the field, the less forgiving the drift.

Reference lines and straightedge checks keep every course true so the pattern, borders and transitions meet exactly where they should.

This Coca-Cola plaza at their new bottling plant in Birmingham, AL was one of the coolest commercial projects.

Terrazzo Mineral White in all 3 sizes, framed with Meteor Black, with the Coca-Cola logo cut directly into the pavers by Paverart

A pretty wild way to make a logo part of the landscape. 🥤

Big collaboration on this one with Schoel

Great work doesn’t happen by accident.

It’s planned one border, one cut and one material decision at a time.

The result should feel effortless, even when the thinking behind it wasn’t.

Built by Braden Spence in collaboration with decor landscape. 👏

How do you make a brand-new driveway feel like it has been there for generations?

Pair old-world cobblestone texture with clean, modern geometry.

Villagio brings the history.

The contrasting bands bring the structure.

Together, they turn the driveway into part of the architecture, not just the way to reach it.
