If your well has been effected by the flood waters please read below for info on well testing.

In response to the 2026 flooding, the Manitoba government, through the Office of Drinking Water (ODW), has temporarily increased support for private well owners impacted by flooding.

✅ Flood-Impacted Wells
• ONE FREE bacteriological test per private well (June 15 – August 31, 2026)
• Testing completed through Duracan Lab (includes Total Coliform and E. coli)
• Verification of flood impact is required to qualify

⛔️ Routine Testing (Non-flood areas)
• One subsidized test per year available at $17.67

⚠️ Positive Results
• Notification and guidance will be provided
• One free follow-up test will be provided.

Getting Started & Resources:

Pick up a kit: You can pick up testing sample bottles directly at your local municipal office or the Duracan lab itself.

Contact Duracan: For questions regarding sample collection, pricing, or submitting your water sample, contact Duracan Laboratory directly at 204-960-9995 or visit Duracan Laboratory online.

Review Results & Assistance: If your well tests positive for bacteria, you will be notified immediately, instructed on how to disinfect your well, and provided with a free follow-up test.
