Effective immediately, the Province has eliminated the five-year certification renewal requirement for journeypersons in most compulsory trades, such as plumber, construction electrician and boilermaker, which will save them time, money and paperwork. This makes it easier and more affordable to work in the skilled trades by removing red tape and reducing costs for thousands of trades professionals.

Additionally, experienced professionals in almost all trades – more than 70 occupations – will pay less to challenge their certification exam. The Province has reduced the cost to $350 from $644.15, bringing Nova Scotia more in line with other provinces and making it easier for experienced workers, including newcomers, to become certified.

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Electrician to join our Seacrest team.

Location: Primarily Pictou County

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and residential buildings
- Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure electrical systems are operating efficiently and safely.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues. Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Ensure all work meets electrical codes and safety standards.
- Work closely with contractors, project managers, and other construction professionals to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including inspections, repairs, and installations.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols while working with electrical systems to prevent accidents and injuries.

Qualifications:
- Valid Red Seal, 3rd or 4th year preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and perform manual labor as needed.
- Must have valid drivers license and have reliable transportation for travel to and from job sites

Here is a overview of the very large project we were proud to be a part of for the Shubenacadie Wastewater Treatment Facility. It is a state of the art facility designed by CBCL Limited Limited and Constructed by L&R Construction . This facility will allow the community of Shubenacadie to grow their residential and commercial development sector. A big plus for this East Hants community.
