Valley Builders Revelstoke is hiring! We're looking for a Journeyman Carpenter or experienced 3rd+ Year Apprentice to join our skilled, hardworking crew. If you take pride in craftsmanship and want to work with a reliable and reputable local builder, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
Form and pour concrete
Frame walls, install windows and doors
Perform interior and exterior finishing work
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and site safety
What We’re Looking For
Red Seal Carpenter certification or minimum 5 years of construction experience
Solid understanding of residential construction practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
Wage & Benefits
Competitive hourly wage: $30–$47, based on experience and qualifications
Steady, full-time work in the Revelstoke area
Supportive team environment and opportunities to grow with the company

Framing

On our Oscar street garden suite project we opted to ballon frame. We found this really sped up our exterior framing and were able to get more insulation in our walls. We had a great time doing some big lifts, and we bought a lift of A-grade 16’ studs to keep everything nice straight.

On this build our primary air barrier is on the exterior of the house and our vapour barrier is on the interior walls.

We opted to mono pour slab thickening for some interior load bearing walls. Really happy with how this turned out. Quick and efficient this allows for an insulated and well sealed slab. Onto framing !
