Lawn Alert: The “Hidden” Grass Killers 🛑🌱
If you start noticing these buggers in your lawn, destroy them. Those “C-shaped” white larvae ( this is the picture of them transitioning into European chafer) aren’t just ugly—they are the larvae of the European Chafer and other beetles. They spend their spring feasting on your grass roots, leaving your lawn brown, spongy, and dying. The Warning Signs #1 The “Spongy” Walk: if your grass feels like walking on a loose carpet, the roots are likely gone. #2 Irregular Brown Patches: Dying grass that can be rolled up like a rug. How to Take Control! The Tug Test: If your lawn lifts easily with no roots attached, you’ve got grubs.
Keep your grass tall, mowed to about 3 inches. Chafers prefer laying eggs in short, stressed grass. Overseed & irrigate! A thick, healthy lawn is the best natural defense against an infestation.
Don’t wait until your yard is a buffet. Catch them now before they take flight! 🐛✂️
