On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we gratefully acknowledge the many First Nations and Indigenous communities we have had the privilege to collaborate with across Saskatchewan.
 
We are continually learning and exploring how Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples can relate to one another through shared histories, cultures, and lived experiences. We believe meaningful spaces are created through listening, trust, ceremony, storytelling, and relationship-building.
 
We recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility, and we remain committed to listening, learning, and working together to create inclusive and culturally responsive spaces.
 
Today, we reflect on our ongoing commitment to honour and support Indigenous voices and engagement.

The revitalization of University of Regina’s Riddell Centre Commons transformed an outdated food service and student gathering space into a hub that fosters community, school pride, and student engagement.

A diverse mix of seating—including booths, communal tables, lounge seating, and high-top counters—supports a range of activities, from individual study and casual dining to collaborative work and informal social gatherings.

A warm, contemporary material palette draws inspiration from both the University’s identity and the building’s original architectural language.

A key design intervention involved removing the existing six-foot-high partitions and low ceiling elements that fragmented the space and limited visibility. A suspended acoustic wood-look ceiling grid introduces a distinctive architectural feature while improving acoustic performance.

A defining element of the project was the preservation and reintegration of local artist Jacqueline Berting’s original cast glass artwork. More than 200 salvaged glass panels were carefully relocated onto structural columns and illuminated with integrated backlighting, transforming them into striking architectural features. By celebrating this significant piece of the building’s history within a renewed contemporary setting, the design creates a meaningful connection between the University’s past and present.

The result is a modern, welcoming student commons where openness, functionality, art, and campus identity come together.

This certification recognizes advanced expertise in construction contract administration and a deep understanding of the construction process from tender through project completion.

Congratulations to P3A’s Marshall Tomlinson, Ashley Bull, and Katrina Trowell who were acknowledged by Construction Specifications Canada at the CSC conference in May. Marshall and Ashley were recognized for their long-standing memberships (10 years and 15 years respectively). Katrina received a Chapter Award of Merit for her “contribution towards the advancement of the goals of the Association and for the betterment of the design & construction community."

Construction of the La Ronge LTC Home has reached 75% completion. The new 3-storey facility will increase capacity by 64 for a total of 80 private rooms, with washrooms.⁣

Also included in the home are shared living areas, family rooms, a commercial kitchen and cafeteria, a serenity room and traditional healing space. ⁣

P3A attended the Grand Opening of St. Raphael School. The school is part of the North Regina Joint use school which was completed last fall. This was a SPRA-led project (SPRA - Strategic Prairie Regional Alliance - is P3A’s joint venture with aodbt architecture + interior design). We are proud to have led this new school project which will benefit so many in the community!
