Shortek Systems Inc. Shortek is an all-steel product with an engineered, patented, interlocking design which provides un-paralleled structural stability.

This innovative new excavation shoring product came from a pretty simple beginning: "Somebody needed a problem solved." In the summer of 2011 the Shortek team was challenged to solve a Shoring problem, and solve it they did. Using screw pile technology as part of a modular shoring system - not only was the project successful, a new excavation shoring technique emerged. Fast forward one year, and add great deal of engineering and planning. Shortek has seen some amazing results on a wide variety of jobs, and is helping make sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day. Shortek is installed via torque driven drive heads mounted on a variety of different carriers, including but not limited to excavators, compact track loaders, and boom trucks. As long as the unit has enough reach, lift capacity, and torque from the drive unit – Shortek can be easily installed.

First Annual Shortek BBQ & Campout 🔥🏕️🍻

What a weekend! Great food, lots of laughs, and an even better crew. It was awesome getting everyone together away from the job sites and enjoying some well-earned downtime.

Safe to say the first annual campout was a success — already looking forward to next year! 👊

So sad and totally avoidable!!

OSHA has cited a construction contractor for 7 willful, 33 repeat and 17 serious violations after a fatal trench collapse in Massachusetts. These were not minor oversights – they were known hazards that were ignored that cost a worker their life, and another seriously injured. Our investigation found that the company repeatedly ignored basic safety rules such as failing to provide cave-in protection and proper shoring systems.

In total, OSHA assessed nearly $4.7M in proposed penalties to address the violations. Read more in the news release. We will continue to hold bad actors accountable and take enforcement action when employers fail to protect workers. Through our trench safety outreach and continued investment in hazard prevention, OSHA remains committed to ensuring workers return home safely.
