Holy s**t can’t go inside with again chewed by mosquitoes

It’s funny looking back now, but for a lot of us in the 90s, “going for a drive” was an actual activity.

Not because we had somewhere important to be.

Not because we had a destination.

Just because we could.

A few dollars worth of gas, a car full of friends, the windows down, and a favorite CD in the stereo was enough to make an entire evening.

Sometimes we’d drive across town for a soda. Sometimes we’d end up at a parking lot. Sometimes we’d cruise around for hours and never really go anywhere at all.

The freedom was the point.

No GPS. No smartphones. No group chats telling everyone where to meet. Just figuring it out as you went.

Looking back, it wasn’t really about the cars either. Most of us were driving hand-me-downs, rust buckets, or whatever we could afford.

But when you were 16, that beat-up old car felt like the key to the world.

And honestly, some of the best memories we ever made started with someone saying:

“Want to go for a drive?”

What was your first car?
