🚧GRAVELBOURG PROJECT UPDATE 🚧
A huge milestone has officially been reached on our Gravelbourg Water Main Replacement Project.
Our crew down in gravelbourg has completed the installation of the new 200mm (8”) dual water main from the Water Treatment Plant to Duprat. With pressure testing and chlorination successfully completed, it was time for one of the biggest steps yet tying the new system into the Water Treatment Plant and putting it into commission.
And for this one, the clock was on.
Wednesday night, the town’s water was shut off at approximately 8:00 PM, giving our crew a tight window to complete the final tie in. Working down in a deep excavation, the crew coordinated pipe, fittings, equipment and manpower to make the connections and bring the new dual main online.
By approximately 12:30 AM, the water was back on and the new system was feeding the Town of Gravelbourg.
Just 4½ hours from shutdown to water back online.
There wasn’t much room for error or wasted time. Everyone had a job to do, and they powered through to make sure the town was up and running for the next day.
The photos say a lot about what goes into a job like this deep excavation, carefully prepared bedding, dual water mains, multiple connections and fittings, equipment working alongside the ground crew, and plenty of hands in the ditch getting it done. Some of the most important infrastructure in a community is the stuff most people will never see once the road is put back together.
This marks one of the first major milestones of this two year project, and Bullin remains on track for the 2026 portion of the work.
The roads are not open yet, and our crews still have work ahead of them before everything can safely reopen. We appreciate the continued patience of the residents and businesses of Gravelbourg while we keep pushing forward.
A massive thank you to Donnie and the entire crew for absolutely killing it out there this year. The long days, late nights and effort being put into this project have not gone unnoticed. When the pressure was on, this crew stepped up and got it done.
One milestone down — many more to come.
