🚧GRAVELBOURG PROJECT UPDATE 🚧

A huge milestone has officially been reached on our Gravelbourg Water Main Replacement Project.

Our crew down in gravelbourg has completed the installation of the new 200mm (8”) dual water main from the Water Treatment Plant to Duprat. With pressure testing and chlorination successfully completed, it was time for one of the biggest steps yet tying the new system into the Water Treatment Plant and putting it into commission.
And for this one, the clock was on.

Wednesday night, the town’s water was shut off at approximately 8:00 PM, giving our crew a tight window to complete the final tie in. Working down in a deep excavation, the crew coordinated pipe, fittings, equipment and manpower to make the connections and bring the new dual main online.

By approximately 12:30 AM, the water was back on and the new system was feeding the Town of Gravelbourg.

Just 4½ hours from shutdown to water back online.
There wasn’t much room for error or wasted time. Everyone had a job to do, and they powered through to make sure the town was up and running for the next day.

The photos say a lot about what goes into a job like this deep excavation, carefully prepared bedding, dual water mains, multiple connections and fittings, equipment working alongside the ground crew, and plenty of hands in the ditch getting it done. Some of the most important infrastructure in a community is the stuff most people will never see once the road is put back together.

This marks one of the first major milestones of this two year project, and Bullin remains on track for the 2026 portion of the work.

The roads are not open yet, and our crews still have work ahead of them before everything can safely reopen. We appreciate the continued patience of the residents and businesses of Gravelbourg while we keep pushing forward.

A massive thank you to Donnie and the entire crew for absolutely killing it out there this year. The long days, late nights and effort being put into this project have not gone unnoticed. When the pressure was on, this crew stepped up and got it done.

One milestone down — many more to come.

🚧ATTENTION BLACK & WHITE TRAIL TRAVELLERS🚧

What a busy season Bullin Construction has had this year!

As one project wraps up, another is already well underway. Just outside of Medicine Hat along the Black & White Trail, we have a crew that is continuing to make outstanding progress on another major infrastructure project.

From 41°C heat to days of consistent rain, the team has taken everything Mother Nature has thrown at them in stride. Through long hours, dedication, and teamwork, we've successfully stripped the entire roadway, rebuilt significant sections, and are making excellent progress on the installation of this massive culvert crossing.

From precision excavation and engineered bedding to liner installation, culvert placement, material placement, and compaction, every stage is being completed with quality and longevity at the forefront. Every operator, labourer, truck driver, and crew member has played a key role in keeping this project moving safely and efficiently.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, we're proud to say we're well ahead of schedule!! A reflection of the hard work, planning, and commitment of everyone involved.

A REMINDER TO THE PUBLIC ⚠️

This project is operating with full-time traffic control. Please slow down as you approach the construction zone and continue to travel at the posted reduced speed through the work area. Our crew is working alongside active heavy equipment every day. Your patience and caution help keep both our workers and the travelling public safe.

Thank you for respecting the signage, flaggers, and temporary traffic control measures as we continue building safer, stronger infrastructure for our communities.

🚧 Gravelbourg Water Main Replacement Update 🚧

The Gravelbourg crew has been putting in the work, logging long days to keep this project moving forward. Their dedication and teamwork have kept production on track as they continue advancing from the Water Treatment Plant toward Highway 58.

The crew continues to make steady progress by fine grading the bedding sand, ensuring the pipe has a solid, uniform base before installation. Pipe fusing has been moving full speed ahead, with each section carefully set into the trench. After placement, select material is placed and packed around the pipe to properly support the waterline and lock everything into place before the remaining backfill is completed

It's a process that takes precision, patience, and teamwork. From the operators maintaining grade, to the pipe layers, labourers, and truck drivers keeping material moving, every person on site plays an important role in keeping the project progressing safely and efficiently.

We'd also like to thank the residents and motorists for their continued patience while construction is underway. Please continue to respect all traffic control measures and give our crews the room they need to work safely.

We're proud of the progress being made and look forward to sharing more milestones as the Gravelbourg Water Main Replacement Project continues.

🚧Coutts Border Project Update 🚧

Progress continues at the Coutts Border project, and the team has been making great strides across the site.

To date, 75% of the topsoil has been stripped, setting the stage for the next phases of construction. We're also proud to report that 11 km of roadway has now been built to subgrade, with 6 km currently receiving the final four lifts to reach finished grade.

Our crew is also hard at work completing ditch cuts and shaping slopes, ensuring proper drainage and building a road that will stand the test of time. It takes precision, teamwork, and long days to keep a project of this scale moving, and our operators continue to deliver.

Every pass of the grader, scraper, and packer brings this project one step closer to completion. Stay tuned as we continue transforming the landscape and pushing this major infrastructure project forward.

Our True Patriot Love excavator is on site, unloading catch basins, catch basin barrels, and concrete bases as we gear up for the Bassano Water Main Replacement Project.

Every lift is another step toward improving the community's underground infrastructure and keeping the project moving safely and efficiently.

And while the materials are arriving, we'd like you to meet Bailey one of our dedicated pipe layers. If you ask him, there's no better place to be than down in the ditch. He's more than ready to get back to what he does best: lining up pipe, laying water main, and helping build infrastructure that will serve the community for years to come.

The prep work is well underway, and before long the trench will be open, pipe will be going in the ground, and another important project will be taking shape.

Stay tuned as we bring you along every step of the Bassano Water Main Replacement.

Meet Kim.

Some people see the mud, the heat, and the long days. Kim sees another opportunity to get the job done.

Kim in not only one of our dependable truck drivers, hauling materials and equipment wherever they're needed, but she's also our dedicated hvac lady, and she loves every minute of it.

Working in HVAC isn't always clean or glamorous, but that doesn't stop her from showing up every day with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. No matter how dirty the job gets, she's willing to roll up her sleeves, put in the hard work, and take pride in what she does.

Right now, Kim is helping prepare for the upcoming Bassano Water Main Replacement Project. Before our crew can begin excavating, she has the critical job of exposing and locating existing underground utilities. By identifying what's beneath the surface, she helps ensure our operators can excavate safely and avoid striking water, gas, power, communication, or other underground services.

It's dirty work that often goes unnoticed, but it's one of the most important steps in keeping our crews safe, protecting the community's infrastructure, and setting the project up for success.

At Bullin Construction, we're proud to have hardworking team members like Kim people who aren't afraid to step into any role, get their hands dirty, and do whatever it takes to keep our projects moving forward.

🚧Progress continues at the Green Acres Colony drainage improvement project.🚧

Over the past two days, our crew has made significant progress on the new drainage ditch. The ditch base has been cut to grade, and the south slope is essentially complete, with only minor finishing work remaining.

Rock placement has begun along the bottom of the ditch to provide a stable channel and maintain efficient water flow, while topsoil replacement is now underway on the north side.

Tomorrow's focus will be on completing the north slope, finishing the remaining rock installation, placing the balance of the topsoil, and completing the final cleanup.

With storm activity in the forecast, this drainage system is being built to efficiently manage runoff and help protect the surrounding infrastructure for years to come.

Quality workmanship, attention to detail, and the dedication of our crew continue to drive this project toward completion.

Behind every successful project is a team of hardworking individuals, and among them are fathers who make daily sacrifices to provide for their families while helping build the communities we call home.

From early mornings to late nights, these men are often away from their loved ones, working through challenging conditions and long days. Yet they continue to show up with pride, determination, and a commitment to excellence.

What makes them even more valuable is their willingness to share their knowledge. On our job sites, fathers are helping guide the next generation teaching young operators and labourers. the skills, work ethic, and confidence needed to succeed in this industry.

The roads we build, the utilities we install, and the projects we complete are important, but the lessons passed down from one generation to the next are what truly leave a lasting legacy.

Today, we celebrate the fathers who lead by example, both at work and at home.

From the entire Bullin Construction family, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, mentors, and role models who continue to build a brighter future for the next generation.

The piping for the new pump house is in place, the sump system has been excavated and completed, and final soil placement and grading have been finished.

This project presented its share of challenges, with frequent rainfall, hot summer temperatures, and changing site conditions throughout construction. Despite the weather, our crews remained focused, adapting daily to maintain progress while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Projects of this scale are only successful through strong teamwork, communication, and commitment. From excavation and utility installation to final grading and shaping of the pond, every member of the team played an important role in delivering a project that will serve Green Acres Colony for years to come.

As the final earthworks are completed, this project stands as a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and craftsmanship of everyone involved. We extend our sincere appreciation to our operators, labourers, truck drivers, mechanics, and supervisors whose efforts made this milestone possible.

While this phase of the project is complete, there is still more to come at Green Acres Colony. The pond liner is scheduled to be installed, drainage ditch improvements are still to be completed, and the new pump house will soon be delivered and set in place. These final components will bring the entire fresh water pond system one step closer to full operation.

With this phase wrapping up, the machines are being loaded up and moved to the Black & White project. Stay tuned as our crews begin another major undertaking featuring extensive road reconstruction, water management improvements, and new culvert replacements designed to improve drainage, increase reliability, and strengthen local infrastructure.

As beautiful as the finished pond looks today, the best is still yet to come. Green Acres Colony remains an ongoing project, and we look forward to sharing the next stages as they unfold.
