๐๐ ALBERTA: WEโRE RAT-FREE.
RATS: HOLD MY COFFEE. ๐
Apparently, even rats have discovered the Canadian road trip...
And believe it or not, this oneโs actually making headlines. ๐
According to an October 14 report from The Weather Network, Alberta officials say rats are increasingly finding their way into the province by hitchhiking in vehicles, trucks and holiday trailers arriving from elsewhere in Canada.
Yes.
Actual hitchhiking rats. ๐
Alberta has maintained its famous rat-free status for more than 70 years, thanks to one of Canadaโs most aggressive pest-control programs.
But hereโs the interesting partโฆ
Being rat-free doesnโt mean a rat never crosses the provincial border.
It means Alberta has no established breeding population of rats, and officials work to keep it that way.
The provinceโs Rat Patrol continues to investigate sightings and respond to confirmed infestations.
๐ Heading home to AB from an out-of-province road trip?
Alberta officials recommend checking your vehicle for signs of unwanted passengers, particularly around the engine compartment and undercarriage.
๐ And if you actually spot a rat in Alberta, report it to the province at 310-FARM (3276).
๐ฌ ALBERTANS: Did you know rats were literally hitchhiking their way into the province? ๐
