What a gem of a video this is with our owner Dwayne Beck being interviewed 30’s ago about raft racing. Dwayne, we the staff vote you revitalize this rafting race; Parkland Nursery and Landscape could have a wicked raft complete with costumes of course.

Love this little throwback even if it makes us feel a little old. Proud to have been part of the community and supporting various initiatives for over 50 years. No one is more excited to plant a tree than a six year old with a free seedling!

Grade 1 students get seedlings from Parkland Nurseries

To celebrate Arbor Day in 1985, Grade 1 students across Red Deer received Colorado spruce seedlings through a program coordinated by Parkland Nurseries Ltd.

This photograph shows Grandview Elementary School students Kory Vanson, Nicole Parker, and Arron Speer, all age six, selecting their seedlings. Approximately 850 Grade 1 students in Red Deer took part in the initiative. The seedlings were supplied through Alberta Agriculture and the Alberta Horticultural Centre.

We will never tire from sharing this project we got to be apart of! Discovery Canyon was such a core childhood memory for many of our team, it was so much fun to help enhance it for generations to come!
