Here is a laminate floor I installed recently. There was some laminate flooring that was about 15 years old and showing some age. So it was removed and this went down. New baseboards finished up this job nicely.

I know I don’t post that often but here is a siding project I completed last year. This house had original wood siding on it that looked to be in decent shape for the age of it but the house is from the 60’s and doesn’t have much for insulation in the walls. I added new insulation on the outside then installed LP Smartside lap siding along with new soffit and fascia. It’ll look great for years and the homeowner should have a more comfortable house now.

A few months ago I installed this maintenance free, easy to clean Regal Railing in a local daycare. I removed the old wooden railing and installed this safe railing to keep kids where they’re supposed to be. Painted aluminum makes it easy to keep it clean for all the little kids too.

This is probably my favourite thing in the cabin build. This railing started out as old hydro poles that were put through a sawmill to rough lumber then I worked with them and turned them into this. I fitted and milled them into the posts and rails in the pictures then put the puzzle together. Very few visible fasteners but very solid. The black spindles match all the other black accents and go well with the natural cedar rails.

Here’s a couple more shots of the cabin build. In the main living room the fireplace was designed to have a tv mounted to it with a big elk rack mounted above. The second picture is of the second family room where there is a bar, a 12 foot patio door, and we added beams to the ceiling and the same barn wood as the other living room to make it feel more rustic.

So a few weeks ago I finished up at the biggest project I’ve taken on to date! It was a struggle at times working by myself, but I had help when it was absolutely necessary. Big thanks to the sub trades that helped out to the finish line. Here’s a few shots I took before I left. I have way more pictures but I have to keep you coming back for more right?! At the time of these pictures there were a few small things left for the subs but they should be wrapped up by now. Big thanks to the customer for letting me take on this project too!

Getting closer to the finish line on this cabin! Most of the doors are in, casing is done and carpet was installed this week so I got some baseboard installed. Cabinets are in just waiting for countertops. The majority of the walls are finish painted, just waiting on a few things to come in and get installed before painting is done. Vinyl plank flooring and quartz countertops are coming soon too.
