📣 Big news! The Chesterfield Inlet Community Energy Plan (CEP) is now published.

This plan was developed with community input and outlines a path to reduce diesel dependency, promote energy efficiency, and introduce clean energy sources, such as wind and solar, to Chesterfield Inlet.

☀️ A future with wind and solar is within reach — and 93% of community survey respondents say they’d be proud to see Chesterfield Inlet lead the way.

📊 Did you know in 2018 Coral Harbour used nearly 4 million litres of fossil duel—and over a quarter of that just to generate electricity?

🌞 A new solar project could change that. By replacing part of the diesel used for electricity, Salliq could avoid burning over 300,000 litres of diesel per year—reducing fuel dependence, lowering emissions, and improving energy security.

KAE is creating a children’s book for the Ikayuut Solar Project in Naujaat—and we’re looking for an artist to help bring it to life. The book will blend Inuit knowledge and language to teach kids about solar energy.
