🚧 Project Update – Slim Creek Bridge Rehabilitation
Over the next few months, our crews will be hard at work rehabilitating the Slim Creek Bridge on Highway 16, completing critical concrete repairs to the bridge piers that support the structure and help keep it safe for years to come.
📅 Construction: July 27 – October 2, 2026
Traffic will be reduced to Single-Lane Alternating, with a 4.4 m maximum vehicle width restriction in effect. Oversize loads exceeding 6.1 m are expected throughout the project. We’ll make every reasonable effort to accommodate these crossings, but they must be coordinated at least 7 days in advance.
During parts of the project, our crews will be working beneath the bridge. Even if you don’t see workers in the travel lanes, they’re hard at work below, so please stay alert, follow all traffic control, and travel through the work zone with care.
Fun fact! Fresh concrete is sensitive to vibration while it cures. That’s why following the posted speed reductions is so important—it helps protect the quality of the repair and ensures the bridge is built to last. Help us build a stronger, long-lasting bridge for everyone by following the posted speed reductions.
Please plan ahead, expect minor delays, and thank you for helping us keep our crews safe while we complete these important improvements.
