WORKING OUTSIDE IN WILDFIRE SMOKE?

With air quality poor across much of BC, outdoor workers need to take a few extra precautions

• Check the air quality before starting work and throughout the day
• Take more breaks in cleaner-air areas when available
• Keep equipment and vehicle windows closed and use filtered air when possible
• Use appropriate respiratory protection when required and ensure it is properly fit-tested
• Watch your crew for coughing, headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath or unusual fatigue

Our crews work outside in some challenging conditions, but getting the job done should never come before getting everyone home safely.

Look out for yourself. Look out for your crew. Stay safe out there, BC.

Working with Indigenous communities is about far more than "checking a box". It means building genuine relationships, listening and learning, experiencing the culture, and showing up as a committed partner.

Thank you to the Lhtako Dene Nation for inviting us to attend your 2nd Annual Powwow. We were honoured to take part in such a meaningful celebration of culture, community, and tradition.

The Man. The Myth. The Legend.

Comic books are filled with fictional heroes like Batman, Spider-Man and Superman.

But every now and then, you meet a real one.

For over 30 years, Andrew Forbes and his crew of skilled steel erectors, have helped build some of Western Canada’s most challenging bridges and infrastructure projects. From iconic river crossings and complex steel er****ons to mentoring the next generation of builders, his leadership, knowledge and steady hand have left a mark on projects across the province.

The legacy he’s building through the people he’s taught and the standards he’s set… that’s the one that will last.

Poll: Should we make a bridge building comic book?!

The new Jean Marie River Bridge is officially open to traffic!

Formula is proud to have completed this important infrastructure project on Highway 1 in the Northwest Territories ahead of schedule.

The new single-span steel girder bridge provides a safer, more reliable crossing, improves access for wide and oversized loads, and offers increased clearance to accommodate higher flood levels.

While the bridge is now open, crews will remain on-site over the next month completing the remaining construction activities and final project work. Drivers are asked to obey all posted signage, reduce their speed and use extra caution while travelling through the active work area.

A big thank you to our crews, partners, subcontractors and everyone involved in safely bringing this project across the finish line!

Some projects don't just connect communities—they help protect them.

We're proud to have completed the grade control structure and emergency spillway at the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir (SR1), working alongside the Stoney Nakoda Nations and VINCI, on a project that will have a lasting impact for generations.

Built in response to the devastating 2013 Alberta floods, SR1 is designed to help protect Calgary and surrounding communities by diverting and temporarily storing floodwaters during major flood events. It's incredible to see the structures now in place and already serving as an important purpose to protect Calgary from flooding.

We're grateful to have been part of a project that showcases the value of strong partnerships, skilled trades, and infrastructure built to protect communities.

The Springbank Reservoir was created to effectively manage floods with return period of 100 years by diverting floodwaters from diversion canal to the Unnamed Creek Floodplain zone. Formula worked with the Stoney Nakoda Tribal Council and their three Nations for this project.

☀️ It's getting hot out here! As temperatures climb, staying hydrated isn't just about comfort—it's about safety and performance. Did you know?

💧 Losing as little as 2% of your body's water can impact concentration, coordination, and decision-making.

💧 By the time you feel thirsty, you're already starting to become dehydrated.

💧 Working in direct sun, heavy PPE, and physically demanding environments can significantly increase fluid loss throughout the day.

Our teams work in some tough conditions across Canada, and looking out for each other is just part of the job.

Just like our model Eric 💪: Stay hydrated. Stay focused. Stay safe.

Building bridges is one thing. Building them while the world keeps moving is another.

Steel er****on is officially underway at the Sackum Overpass as our crews continue work in one of the project's most challenging phases. Building in a congested environment takes precision, planning, and a team that knows how to get the job done safely while keeping vehicle and train traffic moving.

Another milestone reached. Plenty more to come.
