WORKING OUTSIDE IN WILDFIRE SMOKE?
With air quality poor across much of BC, outdoor workers need to take a few extra precautions
• Check the air quality before starting work and throughout the day
• Take more breaks in cleaner-air areas when available
• Keep equipment and vehicle windows closed and use filtered air when possible
• Use appropriate respiratory protection when required and ensure it is properly fit-tested
• Watch your crew for coughing, headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath or unusual fatigue
Our crews work outside in some challenging conditions, but getting the job done should never come before getting everyone home safely.
Look out for yourself. Look out for your crew. Stay safe out there, BC.
